Dunnocks are lovely, often overlooked wee birds, they used to be known as Hedge Sparrows but they're not sparrows at all. You'll often spot them skulking under shrubs and hedges so, get overlooked but they are beautiful singers and look fabulous when you see them in good light.
That one was captured at the reservoir but I wanted to show their colours.
We seemed to have a lot of them around in Spring then they all disappeared, off mating and nesting so we should be seeing youngsters soon.
I haven't seen one in the garden for a wee while now. I know there's a nest down near the Fox den, I've seen one or two birds going in and out of the Gorse down there.
A good sign of young in the nest so we should be seeing more of them soon.
