This patch is awash with raptors, birds of prey and one of the best sets of shots I got was from our window, when a Buzzard landed on a fence post in the back garden!
I dare say I see Buzzards every day and having spoken to a few local residents, go back a few years and you rarely saw them, like much of the UK.
I was standing in the living room and just happened to look out the window, I ran and grabbed a camera
Buzzards are here all the time but this was just after a harvest in the field beyond so there was the possibility of an escaping snack.
I haven't been that close since but, I quite often get close opportunities all over the patch.
That was April this year, they look like they're having a natter.
They are easy to spot when I and they are out on open ground but sometimes I'm walking through trees, look up and there it is.
Luckily for me, Buzzards like to find a perch and survey their surroundings, that one was on the fence not far from the house and in early morning light.
The Buzzards here also share the sky with the red Kites and sometimes, I get the opportunity to photograph both together.
I don't often get these chance close up but ..... who knows?
