We have Carrion Crows on the patch! Lots of them but, let's be honest, we have Crows, Rooks and Jackdaws, with the odd Raven thrown in. Many people call them all Crows; they're all Corvids
Meet the Carrion Crow
I see Crows flying over the patch all the time, I get photos of them less often, they're not the most trusting bird ever but they are very clever, most Corvids are. There is a pair of Crows that nest in a row of trees on the patch, I'm sure there are many nests but I spotted this pair leaving and returning when I was out walking in that area.
They get a bit noisier when I or anything gets too close, that one did a fly-by as I walked near the trees.  On the last day of May this year, as I walked by, I spotted this young one below the tree, its siblings were still up in the branches
I grabbed a few shots then moved on, I didn't want to stress it or the parents too much and I never got too close. In June 2025 an adult brought a youngster to the garden to be fed.
When we think of young birds, we think cute little fluff balls, not scary eyed, big beaked beasts like that.
